Carlington Black lives alone on the Wellington waterfront with his dog Dunsany and his cat Poe.

He writes of his fantastic and macabre experiences, and the dark side of very normal New Zealand life.

He knows very dark things and recounts them in fantastical stories. He knows people not usually found, and tells their proud sad stories.

His first short story The Urge appeared in The Edge Anthology in 2016. It was described as unnerving and like Stephen King in its strangeness.
